HARTFORD, CT — Police arrested a suspect and recovered a loaded ghost gun following a carjacking incident on March 24, 2026.
Members of the Southeast Community Service Bureau were conducting proactive patrol when they were approached by a juvenile victim reporting that his moped had just been forcibly stolen.
The victim pointed out the suspect, who was actively fleeing the scene on the stolen moped.
Officers quickly located the suspect and conducted a traffic stop.
Officers took the suspect into custody without further incident.
Investigation revealed the suspect was part of a group operating out of a vehicle who approached the juvenile victim, attempted to knock him off the moped, physically pushed the victim and attempted to steal jewelry from his neck.
A search of the suspect revealed he was in possession of a loaded Polymer 80 ghost gun concealed in his waistband.
Police arrested Abdikadir Farah, 18, of Hartford.
Farah was charged with robbery, criminal attempt robbery first degree, larceny of a motor vehicle, larceny fourth degree, assault third degree, risk of injury, possession of firearm without serial number, carrying a pistol without permit and possession of a large capacity magazine.
He was also held on Hartford and Newington warrants.
Police recovered a Polymer 80 ghost gun loaded with a large capacity magazine containing eight rounds of 9mm ammunition and a 2025 Zhilong KY6 moped.
