PENN YAN, NY — A 45-year-old man faces felony charges following a domestic incident early Thursday morning.
Kristopher J. Mahan, of Penn Yan, was arrested at 3:15 a.m. on State Route 54A.
Deputies responded to a report of a physical domestic dispute at the location.
Investigators allege Mahan subjected another person to unwanted physical contact during the incident.
Authorities say Mahan also covered the victim’s mouth with his hands, impeding their breathing.
Mahan was charged with aggravated family offense, a felony, as well as criminal obstruction of breathing and second-degree harassment.
He was transported to the Yates County Jail to await CAP arraignment.
Deputy Middlebrook and Deputy Walker responded to the scene.
Penn Yan Police Department also assisted in the incident.
