JAMESTOWN, NY — Narcotics detectives arrested two people on drug charges Thursday afternoon following an investigation into narcotics sales.
At approximately 1:31 p.m. on June 5, narcotics detectives and investigators from the Jamestown Police Department and Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office were investigating narcotics sales in the area of E. 2nd Street and Crescent Street when they observed Erick J. Lopez-Cruz conduct a drug sale with Stephanie M. Soto, according to police.
A search warrant was executed on a motorcycle parked at 552 Crescent Street, where police located 60.3 grams of fentanyl, a loaded 9mm handgun and a .22 caliber handgun.
Lopez-Cruz was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he was found to be in possession of a small amount of crack cocaine and hydrocodone along with $870, believed to be proceeds from drug sales.
Lopez-Cruz was charged with criminal possession of a weapon 3rd degree, two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree, criminal sale of a controlled substance 3rd degree and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree.
Soto was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree.
The Jamestown Police Department was assisted by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police.
