WEST CAMP, NY — A 15-year-old male was arrested and charged with second-degree murder following a homicide investigation in the hamlet of West Camp.
The Saugerties Police Department received information of a possible homicide on John Schultz Road shortly after 1 p.m. on June 7, 2026.
An investigation was conducted with assistance from the New York State Police, the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office and the Ulster County Child Advocacy Center.
The juvenile, of Saugerties, was arrested and charged with Murder in the 2nd Degree.
He was processed and arraigned June 8, 2026, at the Town of Saugerties Justice Court in the Youth Part of the Superior Court.
The juvenile offender was remanded to a secure facility without bail, pending a future appearance in Ulster County Youth Part Court.
The victim, an adult female, has not been identified as the investigation remains ongoing.
Additional charges are expected.
