CRANSTON, RI — The ACI Investigations Unit charged a Pawtucket man with drug possession on June 3, 2026.
Luis Hernandez, 38, of Pawtucket, was charged with possession of a controlled substance less than 10 grams.
Hernandez was arraigned in Third Division District Court, where he was granted $3,000 personal recognizance and remanded to the ACI.
Man arrested on child pornography charge in Lincoln

LINCOLN, RI — Members of the Computer Crimes Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested a Providence man on a child pornography charge on June 4, 2026.
Claudio Isaid Vasquez Rodriguez, 19, of Providence, was charged with possession of child pornography.
Rodriguez was processed at the Lincoln Barracks and transported to Sixth Division District Court.
Rodriguez was arraigned before Judge William J. Trezvant, where bail was set at $10,000 personal recognizance, with special conditions of limited Internet access and no intentional contact with minors.
Man charged as fugitive from justice in Cranston

CRANSTON, RI — The ACI Investigations Unit charged a Providence man as a fugitive from justice on June 4, 2026.
Joshua Ortiz, 35, of Providence, was charged as a fugitive from justice from the State of Massachusetts.
Ortiz was arraigned in Third Division District Court, where he waived extradition proceedings and was remanded to the custody of the Sheriffs’ Department pending his return to Massachusetts.
Man charged with disorderly conduct in Cranston

CRANSTON, RI — The ACI Investigations Unit charged a Smithfield man with disorderly conduct on June 4, 2026.
Tyler Carew, 31, of Smithfield, was charged with disorderly conduct.
Carew was arraigned in Third Division District Court, where he was granted $1,000 surety bail and remanded to the ACI.
Man arrested on weapons charges in Pawtucket

PAWTUCKET, RI — Members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested a Pawtucket man on weapons charges on June 4, 2026.
Jonathan J. Mercado, 27, of Pawtucket, was arrested on an affidavit and arrest warrant from the Pawtucket Police Department.
Mercado was charged with firing in a compact area, carrying a pistol without a license, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and disorderly conduct.
Mercado was taken into custody without incident and turned over to members of the Pawtucket Police Department on scene.
Man arrested on multiple charges in Johnston

JOHNSTON, RI — Members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested a Johnston man on multiple charges on June 4, 2026.
Nickoli Torrico, 44, of Johnston, was arrested on an affidavit and arrest warrant from the Cranston Police Department.
Torrico was charged with four counts of felony shoplifting, four counts of felony conspiracy and three counts of violation of no contact order, third offense.
Torrico was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Cranston Police Department.
