CARROLLTON, NY — A 53-year-old man was arrested on felony driving while intoxicated charges following a traffic stop on Interstate 86 eastbound.
Josh G. Howard, of Allegany, was taken into custody at 10:15 p.m. June 5, 2026, by deputies of the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office assigned to the Seneca Nation Allegany Territory.
Deputies initiated the traffic stop due to a vehicle and traffic law infraction.
Following an investigation, Howard was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
Howard was transported to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office for processing and a chemical test, which he refused.
Howard was charged with felony DWI, aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
He was released on an appearance ticket and multiple uniform traffic tickets.
Howard is scheduled to appear in Carrollton Town Court at a later date.
