EXETER, RI — A man was arrested on domestic violence charges Saturday afternoon following a well-being check at a residence.
Matthew Dampier, 32, of Exeter, was taken into custody at 1:30 p.m. by Rhode Island State Police troopers.
Dampier faces charges of domestic violence simple assault and domestic violence disorderly conduct.
The arrest followed a response by troopers to a residence on Rolling Hill Drive for a well-being check and subsequent investigation.
Dampier was transported to South County Hospital for evaluation.
He was arraigned by a justice of the peace at the hospital and released on a misdemeanor summons with a future Fourth Division District Court date.
