THORNTON, NH — A man featured as New Hampshire’s “Fugitive of the Week” in July was captured during a high-risk traffic stop on Route 3.

Adam Cummings, 47, was arrested March 12 after members of the Campton and Thornton police departments conducted a coordinated traffic stop on a vehicle in which he was a passenger.

The New Hampshire Department of Corrections had been searching for Cummings, who absconded from probation in September 2023.

Cummings has a lengthy history of drug offenses and prior convictions, including assault, criminal threatening and robbery.

He was known to have ties to Campton and Plymouth, but his whereabouts were unknown.

Members of the Campton Police Department coordinated with local law enforcement partners over several months to locate and apprehend Cummings.

During the apprehension, officers located a firearm.

Cummings has been charged with being a felon in possession of a dangerous weapon, a class B felony.

Following the arrest, Cummings was held without bail and transported to the Grafton County House of Corrections.
