Man arrested on grand larceny charge in Halfmoon

HALFMOON, NY — A Schenectady man was arrested Tuesday on charges of grand larceny and conspiracy.

Richard S. Young, 57, of Schenectady, was taken into custody on an arrest warrant issued by Halfmoon Town Court.

Young is accused of stealing more than $1,000 worth of merchandise from a Lowe’s store in Halfmoon on Jan. 1, 2026.

He also faces a charge of conspiracy in the fifth degree, accused of agreeing with another person to commit a felony.

Young was charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree, a class E felony, and conspiracy in the fifth degree, a class A misdemeanor.

He was arraigned before Judge Joseph V. Fodera and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail pending further court proceedings.
