PLATTEKILL — On Aug. 7 at approximately 4:04 p.m., members of the Troop F Community Stabilization Unit observed a 2011 BMW traveling northbound on Interstate 87 in violation of multiple New York State Vehicle and Traffic Laws.
A traffic stop was initiated, and troopers interviewed the driver, a 33-year-old male, and front seat passenger Keita Williams, 54, both of Schenectady.
During the investigation, K9 Kell conducted an exterior sniff of the vehicle and gave a positive alert for narcotics.
A subsequent search of Williams revealed approximately 104 grams of cocaine.
A search of the vehicle yielded no additional contraband.
Williams was arrested without incident, transported to State Police Highland for processing, and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree (Intent to Sell) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree, both Class B felonies.
He was arraigned Aug. 8 at the Ulster County Centralized Arraignment Part and remanded to Ulster County Jail, pending a future court appearance.
