MIDDLETOWN — A 35-year-old Middletown man died Friday afternoon when his moped crashed on the pedestrian walkway of the Arrigoni Bridge.
Kristopher Hinton was pronounced dead at the scene after the 1:32 p.m. crash, according to the Middletown Police Department.
Officers determined that Hinton was operating a 50cc moped on the bridge’s pedestrian walkway when the accident occurred.
The preliminary investigation suggests that Hinton was traveling too fast for the sidewalk and lost control of the moped, police said.
The Middletown Police Department’s Traffic Unit is investigating the case.
