SCRIBA — Members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to an armed robbery at the Pit Stop Convenience Store, located at 3806 County Route 4 in the Town of Scriba on July 22 at approximately 5:47 p.m.
A male walked into the convenience store and threatened the cashier with what appeared to be a firearm, according to the sheriff’s office.
The suspect demanded cash from the cashier but was denied money and fled the scene.
Oswego County Sheriff’s Deputies located the suspect’s residence near the Pit Stop Convenience Store, where they found the suspect, the vehicle used to flee the scene, and the imitation firearm used in the robbery.
The suspect was identified as Adam Lofthouse, 23, a resident of the Town of Scriba.
Lofthouse was taken into custody and transported to the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office.
Lofthouse was charged with attempted robbery in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.
Lofthouse was turned over to the Oswego County Correctional Facility and held overnight for arraignment at Oswego County CAP Court.
He was arraigned and remanded back to Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,000 cash or $2,000 bond.
