DERBY — Vermont State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of the Interstate 91 exit ramp and Route 5 at 7:49 a.m. Wednesday.
A 16-year-old driver from Newport was driving a 2021 Subaru Crosstrek eastbound on Route 5 when she failed to yield right of way to oncoming traffic at the intersection.
William Steinhour, 18, of Richford was traveling north on the Interstate 91 exit ramp in a 2016 Ford F-250 when his vehicle struck the passenger side of her vehicle.
The teen sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.
Steinhour was not injured.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
