BENSON — A 32-year-old Benson man was arrested on DUI charges after a two-vehicle crash that injured two children Sunday evening on Mill Pond Road.
Jamie Curavoo was traveling westbound on Mill Pond Road around 8:47 p.m. when his 2007 GMC Yukon collided with a 2008 Honda Odyssey, according to Vermont State Police.
After the collision, Curavoo’s vehicle continued westbound, lost control and overturned.
Two juveniles in Curavoo’s vehicle, ages 6 and 9, sustained injuries and were transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center.
Neither child was wearing a seat belt, police said.
The driver of the Honda Odyssey, Sarah Stanley, 42, of Fair Haven, was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.
Two juvenile passengers in Stanley’s vehicle, ages 5 and 9, were wearing seat belts and were not injured.
Police said Curavoo displayed signs of impairment and was arrested after field sobriety testing.
Curavoo was transported to Castleton Police Department for processing and issued a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court Rutland Criminal Division on July 28 at 10 a.m.
He faces charges of driving under the influence, negligent operation and two counts of cruelty to a child.
Road conditions were dry and weather was cloudy at the time of the crash.
