TROY — Vermont State Police arrested a 36-year-old woman Friday night for violating an abuse prevention order at a residence on Vermont Route 101.
Maria Chagnon of Troy refused to vacate the residence as required by the restraining order when troopers arrived at 10 p.m. to serve the order.
Chagnon told troopers they would have to remove her from the property.
She resisted arrest after being advised she was being taken into custody for violating the order, police said.
No injuries occurred during the arrest.
Chagnon was transported to the Vermont State Police Derby barracks for processing.
She was later lodged at the Northern State Correctional Facility after being unable to post $200 bail.
Chagnon is scheduled to appear in Orleans Superior Court on April 7 at 12:30 p.m. to answer charges of violation of an abuse prevention order, unlawful trespass and resisting arrest.
