LONDONDERRY — A Nashua man attempted to flee on foot after a crash on Interstate 93 southbound.
At 6:20 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, State Police Dispatch received a report of a crash on I-93 southbound’s Exit 5 off-ramp in Londonderry.
Trooper Matthew Howe of the Troop B barracks was dispatched and located the crash site.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of a silver 2012 Acura ZDX had crashed into a white 2024 Honda Pilot and fled the scene on foot.
The driver of the Acura attempted to hide in the grass near the crash site before being spotted by the troopers.
Once located and detained, the driver attempted to give troopers a fake identity.
The driver was then identified as Reynaldo Tirado, 31, of Nashua.
Troopers learned that Tirado had been released on bail from the Hillsborough County House of Corrections in Manchester just before engaging in the conduct that resulted in this investigation.
Tirado was charged with reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, conduct after an accident resulting in personal injury, receiving stolen property, disobeying a police officer, driving under the influence, unauthorized taking of a motor vehicle, operating after suspension, and breach of bail.
Tirado was held at the Rockingham County House of Corrections and was arraigned earlier today in the Derry District Court.
Both Tirado and the driver of the Honda sustained minor injuries in the crash and were transported to a local hospital.
Troopers were assisted on the scene by members of the Londonderry Police Department, the Manchester Police Department, and the Londonderry Fire Department.
