ALBION — Two people have been charged with burglary after police say they illegally stayed aboard a tugboat for about a week in late June.

Albion police received multiple reports of someone using the Pittsford Tugboat without permission.

Officers conducted midnight boat checks and received tips from the community to identify the suspects.

Alisha Evans and Anthony Gross admitted to entering and staying aboard the vessel for approximately one week, according to police.

The pair told officers the boat was unlocked and they did not cause damage.

Evans and Gross were charged with third-degree burglary, petit larceny and criminal trespass.

Both were processed at the Albion Police Department and released on appearance tickets for Albion Town Court.
