SALEM — Two people were injured following a crash on Interstate 93.
At 7:44 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, State Police Communications received a report of two vehicles being operated hazardously.
Minutes later, Troopers from the Troop B barracks responded to a crash on I-93 southbound in Salem.
Investigators determined the driver of a 2021 Honda Civic lost control near mile marker 2.4, spun across three lanes, and struck a 2018 Ford Transit before hitting a guardrail and stopping in the breakdown lane.
Evidence and witness statements suggest the Civic and a 2010 Acura TSX were traveling at high speeds, weaving through traffic, and possibly racing before the crash.
The Ford Transit driver was taken to Holy Family Hospital for treatment, while the Civic driver was transported to Lawrence General Hospital for evaluation.
Salem Fire Department and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation assisted at the scene.
Southbound lanes were closed for about 30 minutes during debris cleanup.
The crash remains under investigation.
