HAVERSTRAW — The Haverstraw Police Department arrested a 45-year-old New Jersey man in connection with an armed robbery at a business in Garnerville.
Police responded to the robbery report at approximately 9:15 p.m. Tuesday at a business in Garnerville.
Officers secured the scene and began investigating the incident.
Nelson Morales of Cliffside Park, New Jersey, was arrested at approximately 7:00 a.m. Wednesday in Orangetown with assistance from multiple law enforcement agencies.
Morales was charged with robbery in the first degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree and criminal possession of a firearm.
He was arraigned in Haverstraw Justice Court, where bail was set at $25,000 cash, $50,000 secure bond or $75,000 partially secured bond.
Morales was remanded to the Rockland County Correctional Facility pending further court proceedings.
The New York State Police, Rockland County Sheriff’s Office, Rockland County Intelligence Center and the FBI-Westchester Safe Streets Task Force assisted in the investigation.
