Lyndon man arrested on assault, threatening charges

LYNDON — A 48-year-old man was arrested June 29 following a physical altercation and threatening incident on Lynburke Road.

Vermont State Police from the St. Johnsbury barracks responded to a report of criminal threatening and were advised while en route that a physical altercation had occurred.

After investigation, police found probable cause that Tristan Barrett of Lyndon had committed simple assault, aggravated disorderly conduct and three counts of criminal threatening.

Barrett actively resisted when troopers attempted to take him into custody, police said.

The victims were identified as Samuel Hazard, 47, of Lyndon; Aimee Little, 44, of Lyndon; Randall McKinstry, 69, of Lyndon; Gary Barrett, 71, of Lyndon; and Donald Shiflett, 71, of Lyndon.

Barrett was processed at the St. Johnsbury barracks and lodged at Northeast Regional Correctional Center in lieu of $400 bail.

He faces charges of simple assault, criminal threatening, aggravated disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
