GUILFORD — A 59-year-old Massachusetts man was found dead Sunday morning in a wooded area behind an Interstate 91 north rest area, Vermont State Police said.
Matthew Rice of Easthampton, Mass., was discovered unresponsive at approximately 9:11 a.m.
Guilford Fire and Rescue Inc. responded to the scene and pronounced Rice deceased.
The preliminary investigation does not indicate the death is suspicious, and there is no cause for public concern, police said.
An autopsy will be performed at the Vermont Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington to determine the cause and manner of death.
