Suffern man arrested on lewdness, touching charges in Clarkstown

CLARKSTOWN — State Police arrested and processed Donald Hopkins, 74, of Suffern, for public lewdness and forcible touching on June 21.

A preliminary investigation determined that on June 19 at approximately 1 p.m., the victim was transporting Hopkins in their vehicle on I-87 southbound in the town of Clarkstown to an appointment in Yonkers.

An investigation determined that, while in the car, Hopkins inappropriately touched the victim and exposed himself without their consent.

Hopkins was charged with public lewdness, a Class B misdemeanor, and forcible touching, a Class A misdemeanor.

Hopkins was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Clarkstown Town Court on July 7.

The investigation is ongoing.
