St. Johnsbury woman arrested on DUI #3 charges after traffic stop on I-91

BARNET — A 29-year-old St. Johnsbury woman was arrested on multiple charges including her third DUI offense following a traffic stop on Interstate 91 Monday night.

Shannon Rios was taken into custody at approximately 10:55 p.m. after Vermont State Police observed her vehicle traveling at high speeds in a negligent manner on I-91 northbound near mile marker 125.

Police conducted a traffic stop and identified Rios as the operator.

After investigation and observation of several indicators of impairment, Rios was arrested on charges of DUI third offense, negligent operation, reckless endangerment, cruelty to a child, ignition interlock required, and violation of conditions of release.

A juvenile was identified as a victim in the incident.

Rios was transported and processed at the St. Johnsbury Barracks.

She was issued a citation to appear in Caledonia Superior Court.
