Brattleboro traffic stop leads to warrant arrest, unlicensed driving charge

BRATTLEBORO — A traffic stop on Interstate 91 North resulted in two arrests June 23 when a state trooper discovered the driver was operating without a license and the passenger had an outstanding warrant.

A trooper from the Westminster Barracks conducted the motor vehicle stop at approximately 5:10 p.m. near mile marker 12 after observing a traffic violation.

The driver, Jonathon Cartin, 60, of Putney, was found to be driving without a license.

Investigation revealed that passenger Jillian Taylor, 41, of Grafton, had an active arrest warrant.

Taylor was arrested without incident and transported to the Westminster Barracks.

She was later lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility on $50 bail and is scheduled to appear before Windham County Superior Court on June 24 at 12:30 p.m.

Cartin was issued a criminal citation to appear before Windham County Superior Court on July 22 at 8:30 a.m. to answer the license required charge.
