SHOREHAM — Vermont State Police responded to a single vehicle crash on Lapham Bay Road near Riggs Road at 11:10 p.m. June 21.
The operator was identified as Steven Barrera, 26, of Vergennes.
Investigation determined the 2009 Chevrolet truck exited the roadway and crashed into a utility pole.
Police said Barrera was impaired at the time of the crash.
Barrera was transported to UVM Medical Center for suspected serious injuries.
The truck sustained extensive damage.
Weather conditions were clear with dry pavement at the time of the crash.
Barrera was issued a citation to appear in Addison Superior Court – Criminal Division for driving under the influence and operating with a criminally suspended license.
