HERKIMER — New York State Police are receiving numerous complaints of individuals riding unlicensed vehicles in the areas of Russia and Military Roads in the Town of Russia.
Much of the information provided to state police points to juveniles operating ATVs, UTVs and dirt bikes recklessly without proper safety equipment and often outside the requirements of New York State Vehicle and Traffic Laws.
State Police Herkimer will patrol these areas during the summer months to educate and take proper enforcement action against anyone operating outside the requirements of state Vehicle and Traffic Laws.
The State Police and Herkimer County District Attorney’s Office will also investigate specific cases involving juveniles operating in this manner and will take appropriate criminal action against any individuals found to be facilitating these incidents.
