LEICESTER — Vermont State Police arrested a 41-year-old Whiting man on drug impairment charges after responding to a report at Otter Creek Academy on June 12.
Troopers responded to the school at approximately 11:28 a.m. after receiving a report of an individual believed to be impaired.
Investigation revealed that Joshua Thorpe had driven his vehicle to the school.
While speaking with Thorpe, troopers detected indicators of drug impairment.
Thorpe was screened and placed under arrest.
He was transported to the Vergennes Police Department for a drug influence evaluation.
Following the evaluation, Thorpe was transported to Porter Medical Center, where he consented to provide an evidentiary blood sample.
Thorpe was charged with driving under the influence of drugs.
