BRATTLEBORO — Two Brattleboro residents face cocaine possession charges following a May 24 traffic stop on Putney Road.
Christopher Therieau, 34, was arrested during the initial traffic stop at approximately 10:58 p.m. after deputies with the Windham County Sheriff’s Office observed a motor vehicle violation involving a silver Subaru Forester.
Deputy Thomas Raymond, working as part of the Governor Highway Safety Grant DUI Campaign, conducted the subsequent investigation that led to Therieau’s arrest for possession of cocaine.
During the investigation, deputies seized a purse belonging to Opal Vandusen, 24, of Brattleboro, pending the application of a search warrant.
Therieau was transported to the Windham County Sheriff’s Office for processing and released on a criminal citation.
On May 30, deputies executed a court-ordered search warrant on the purse and located a small amount of suspected crack cocaine.
Vandusen was located June 5 and issued a criminal citation to appear before the Vermont Superior Court Criminal Division Windham Unit.
Both defendants are scheduled to appear in court July 22.
No bail was set for either defendant.
