2 arrested in Ramapo taxi driver robberies, thefts

RAMAPO — Two Hillcrest residents were arrested June 6 in connection with recent robberies and thefts targeting taxi drivers, according to the Town of Ramapo Police Department.

A 26-year-old man was charged with petit larceny, theft of service and second-degree robbery for his alleged involvement in two cases.

He was arraigned by Judge Straus and remanded to the Rockland County Jail.

He is scheduled to appear in Ramapo Court at a later date.

A 27-year-old woman was charged with petit larceny and theft of service for her alleged involvement in one case.

She was released on her own recognizance and is due in Ramapo Court at a later date.
