Putney man crashes into utility pole after medical emergency

PUTNAM — A 64-year-old man crashed into a utility pole after suffering an apparent medical emergency while driving on Grove Street on June 4.

The Putnam Police Department and Putnam EMS responded to the crash at approximately 2:24 p.m. in the area of 41 Grove Street.

Police said the man was driving a 2016 Kia Sedona eastbound on Grove Street when he suffered the medical emergency.

His vehicle traveled off the roadway and collided with the utility pole.

The man was the lone occupant of the vehicle and sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

He was transported to Day Kimball Hospital for treatment.

The utility pole sustained moderate damage, but no services were interrupted.

The vehicle was towed from the scene due to disabling damage.
