FAIRFIELD — The Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating an apartment building fire that displaced four residents after investigators determined it was intentionally set.
The fire occurred at 16 Summit Street on June 1 at approximately 3:30 a.m. in a five-unit apartment building.
Two of the units were occupied at the time of the fire.
All four residents escaped safely and no injuries were reported.
The occupants have been displaced due to damage from the fire.
The Fairfield Fire Department requested assistance from the Office of State Fire Marshal following the incident.
The incident remains under active investigation.
Fire departments from Waterville, Oakland, Clinton, Albion, Winslow, and Skowhegan assisted at the scene.
The Fairfield Police Department and Delta Ambulance also responded to the incident.
