Exeter police arrest 19-year-old in connection with dealership vehicle thefts

EXETER — The Exeter Police Department announced the arrest of a 19-year-old Brockton, Massachusetts man in connection with the theft of two high-end vehicles from a local automotive dealership.

Nelshon Luis Pires was arrested June 3 by Brockton Police on an arrest warrant from Exeter Police charging him with a felony count of theft.

He is being held pending extradition to New Hampshire as a fugitive from justice.

The investigation stems from thefts that occurred May 31, 2024, at Foss Motors, located at 133 Portsmouth Ave.

Two vehicles were stolen from the dealership: a white 2024 Dodge Durango SRT 392 and a gray 2021 Dodge Durango SRT.

Each vehicle was valued at $50,000.

Exeter Police responded to the dealership on the morning of May 31, 2024, after receiving a report of the stolen vehicles.

Chief Stephan Poulin praised the work of the Criminal Investigative Division and Detective John Suglia in the case.

“These interstate cases are intricate and involve a lot of effort and hard work on the part of our Criminal Investigative Division and specifically Detective John Suglia,” Poulin said.

“His ability to parse out evidence and to work closely with outside agencies such as our State and Federal partners has been critical to success.”

Poulin also recognized the efforts of the Brockton Police Department with the recent arrest.

The case remains under investigation.
