WESTMINSTER — A 48-year-old New Hampshire man was arrested for driving under the influence after crashing his vehicle and leaving the scene on Interstate 91, Vermont State Police said.
Michael E. Wilkins of Littleton, New Hampshire, was stopped by troopers from the Westminster Barracks at approximately 5:09 p.m. Monday on Interstate 91 southbound at mile marker 29.1.
Police had issued a be-on-the-lookout alert for a vehicle that had crashed on Interstate 91 and continued from the scene.
The investigation resulted in Wilkins being charged with his second DUI offense and leaving the scene of an accident.
Wilkins was transported to the Westminster Barracks for processing.
He was issued a citation to appear before Vermont Superior Court – Windham Criminal Division on June 17 at 8:30 a.m.
