FAIRFIELD — The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Division executed a drug search warrant at the American Lodge on Main Street Tuesday, May 20, at approximately 10:40 a.m., following a month-long investigation into alleged drug sales.

Four Sheriff’s Office Criminal Division Detectives, a Sheriff’s Office Patrol Deputy, and officers from the Waterville Police Department conducted the search with assistance from the Fairfield Police Department.

Authorities seized over 13 grams of fentanyl and cocaine, along with digital scales, drug-related documentation, and paraphernalia.

Adrianna Velez, 19, of Fairfield, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Trafficking in Scheduled Drugs (Class A, Fentanyl), Unlawful Furnishing in Scheduled Drugs (Class C, cocaine), and two counts of Violation of Conditions of Release.

The trafficking charge was aggravated due to the quantity of fentanyl seized.

Officials noted that Velez was already out on bail for two unrelated criminal matters at the time of her arrest.

Velez’s bail is set at $25,000 cash or $1,000 cash with a Somerset County Community Corrections Program Contract, with conditions prohibiting the use or possession of illegal drugs.

Her initial court appearance is scheduled for August 6 at 8:30 a.m. at the Somerset County Unified Criminal Court.

Charges against another individual connected to the investigation are pending review by the District Attorney’s Office.

Sheriff Lancaster warned that in this and several recent drug investigations, cocaine seized has contained fentanyl, which can create a dangerous and potentially deadly combination when ingested.
