WESTMINSTER — A Massachusetts man was arrested Monday after police said he was driving more than 40 mph over the speed limit on Interstate 91.
Andrew R. Violette, 19, of East Longmeadow, was charged with negligent operation of a motor vehicle and excessive speed, according to the Windham County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies observed Violette traveling at 106 mph in a 65 mph zone on I-91 just north of Exit 5 at approximately 4 p.m. on May 26.
Violette was released on a citation to appear in Windham Superior Court, Criminal Division at a later date.
He was also issued a traffic ticket for the civil speeding violation.
