SHOREHAM — A 68-year-old Orwell man was arrested for driving under the influence after crashing his motorcycle on Shoreham Depot Road Saturday evening.
Vermont State Police from the New Haven Barracks responded to a report of a single-vehicle motorcycle crash at approximately 7:55 p.m. on May 24.
Upon arrival, troopers found that Martin Begonis had driven his 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle off the roadway.
While speaking with Begonis, troopers observed several signs of impairment.
After field sobriety tests, Begonis was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
Begonis was transported to the New Haven State Police Barracks for processing.
He sustained no injuries in the crash, which caused minor damage to the motorcycle.
Road conditions were wet at the time of the incident due to rain.
Begonis was issued a citation to appear in Addison County Superior Court – Criminal Division on June 9 at 12:30 p.m.
