COLCHESTER — Colchester Police arrested a Sheldon man on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs after finding him unconscious in a moving vehicle on Roosevelt Highway.
On May 22 at approximately 12:46 p.m., Colchester Police and Colchester Rescue responded to multiple reports of individuals passed out in a vehicle that was still moving in the roadway near Roosevelt Highway and Exit 16.
Officers were able to wake up the individuals upon arrival.
The driver was identified as Corey Derry, 37, of Sheldon.
Further investigation revealed Derry was operating with a criminally suspended license and had two outstanding warrants from Franklin County.
Derry was lodged at the Northwest Correctional Facility in St. Albans on the arrest warrant charge.
The passenger, Emma-Jayne Farina, 30, of Strafford, was transported to UVM Medical Center for evaluation.
Farina was found to have an extraditable warrant out of New Hampshire and was subsequently lodged at the Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility on a fugitive from justice charge.
