WATERBURY — Officers from the Waterbury Police Department seized crack cocaine, hundreds of bags of amphetamines and cash during a traffic stop Friday morning.
The arrest occurred around 10 a.m. May 16 in the area of West Liberty Street and Bank Street, where officers from the department’s Traffic Services Unit and Community Relations Division were conducting targeted enforcement.
Police initiated the traffic stop after observing multiple motor vehicle violations.
During the investigation, officers seized $303 in U.S. currency, 22.4 grams of crack cocaine and 374 bags of amphetamines.
The driver, identified as Jah-wize Robinson, 26, of Waterbury, was taken into custody.
Robinson faces multiple charges including operating a drug factory, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, insufficient insurance, window tints without required sticker and failure to display number plate.
