WOODBURY — A Woodbury man was arrested Monday on charges of sexual assault involving a minor following an investigation that began last month, authorities said.

Christopher Thompson, 52, was taken into custody by Connecticut State Police Troopers and Woodbury Police Department Officers on May 19.

Thompson faces charges of second-degree sexual assault, risk of injury to a minor, and second-degree reckless endangerment.

The investigation began in April after allegations of sexual abuse were reported to the Woodbury Resident Trooper Office.

Authorities identified the victim, who was between 14 and 16 years old at the time of the alleged abuse.

Thompson is being held on a $750,000 bond and is scheduled for arraignment at Waterbury Superior Court on May 20 at 9 a.m.
