DUMMERSTON — A local man was arrested Friday after refusing to leave a residence following the service of a Relief from Abuse Order, according to Vermont State Police.
Paul G. Gilroy, 47, of Dummerston, was taken into custody at approximately 5:20 p.m. on Charette Drive when he allegedly violated the court order by refusing to vacate the property.
Troopers from the Westminster Barracks had arrived at the residence to serve the order when the incident occurred.
Following his arrest, Gilroy was transported to the Vermont State Police Westminster Barracks for processing.
He was subsequently lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility.
Gilroy is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Windham Unit, Criminal Division on May 19 at 8:30 a.m. to answer to the charge of Violation of Abuse Prevention Order.
