South Windsor man arrested for voyeurism after hidden phone found

SOUTH WINDSOR — A 23-year-old South Windsor man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly placing a cell phone to secretly record a roommate without consent.

Shashank Kodati was taken into custody at 11:30 a.m. after South Windsor police responded to a residence where a recording cell phone was discovered in the victim’s room.

Police determined Kodati had intentionally placed the device to record his roommate.

Kodati was charged with disorderly conduct and voyeurism, processed, and released on a $5,000 non-surety bond.

He is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court today at 9 a.m.

In an unrelated case, police also arrested Mark C. Brogin, 53, of Sarasota, Florida, at 8:33 p.m. Tuesday on two arrest warrants from 2013.

Brogin allegedly forged checks and used a victim’s identity to purchase items and services from Between Rounds and Benjamin Franklin Plumbing.

He was extradited from Florida to Connecticut and will appear in Manchester Superior Court today at 9 a.m. on charges of sixth-degree larceny, third-degree identity theft, and second-degree forgery.
