Woman faces DUI charges after Dummerston crash

DUMMERSTON — Multiple 911 calls reporting a single-vehicle crash on U.S. Route 5 led to DUI charges for a Putney woman Monday morning.

Vermont State Police responded to the scene in Dummerston at approximately 9:45 a.m. on May 12.

The driver was identified as Christal C. Cassell, 41, of Putney.

According to police, Cassell displayed multiple signs of impairment and was taken into custody.

Cassell faces charges of driving under the influence of drugs and negligent operation.

She was issued a criminal citation to appear in Windham County Superior Court on July 8 at 8:30 a.m.
