WILLISTON — Vermont State Police arrested a Colchester man on an active warrant after he failed to stop for troopers on Interstate 89 Thursday afternoon.
Zachary M. Dutcher, 32, was taken into custody around 5:56 p.m. after a brief pursuit that began near mile marker 79.8 on I-89 southbound in Williston.
Troopers attempted to stop Dutcher’s vehicle for a moving violation, but he continued driving at a low rate of speed without yielding.
The pursuit ended when Dutcher pulled into a residence on Jericho Center Circle in Jericho, where officers identified him.
Further investigation revealed Dutcher had an active in-state warrant for multiple charges including domestic assault and four counts of violation of probation.
Dutcher was arrested on the warrant and charged with eluding a police officer.
After processing at the Williston Barracks, he was transported to Northwest Correctional Facility in St. Albans for lack of $200 bail.
Dutcher was issued a citation to appear in Chittenden County Superior Court, Criminal Division at 8:30 a.m. on June 24.
