SAINT JOHNSBURY — A Burlington man was arrested for driving under the influence and other charges after troopers found his car parked in an intersection early Sunday morning.
Vermont State Police from the St. Johnsbury Barracks were on routine patrol at 12:53 a.m. May 4 when they observed a vehicle parked in the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Railroad Street with a man standing nearby.
Troopers initiated a traffic stop and identified the operator as Stephane O. Katende, 23, of Burlington.
During their interaction with Katende, troopers detected indicators of impairment.
Katende was arrested on suspicion of DUI refusal, driving with a criminally suspended license, and two counts of disorderly conduct.
He was taken into custody and transported to the Saint Johnsbury Barracks for processing.
Katende was later released with a citation to appear in Caledonia County Superior Court – Criminal Division.
