LYNDON — A 17-year-old faces multiple charges after allegedly attempting to run another driver off the road in a late-night confrontation.

Vermont State Police responded to a motor vehicle complaint at approximately 11:24 p.m. Wednesday in Lyndon.

Troopers were unable to locate the suspect vehicle at the scene or in the surrounding area.

Investigation identified Donovan Gustavsen, 17, of Lyndon, as the operator of the vehicle involved in the incident.

Authorities determined Gustavsen had attempted to crash into a vehicle driven by Jayson Francis, 21, of St. Johnsbury, and push him off the roadway.

Gustavsen allegedly struck Francis’s vehicle multiple times as Francis was attempting to flee.

Troopers located Gustavsen on Thursday and cited him for aggravated assault, gross negligent operation, and leaving the scene of an accident.

Gustavsen is scheduled to appear in Caledonia County Superior Court on May 19 at 8:30 a.m.
