Pedestrian struck by car on US Route 5 near Dummerston town line

DUMMERSTON — A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on US Route 5 near the Brattleboro town line Wednesday night, according to Vermont State Police.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:46 p.m. on April 30 when Terry Parson Jr., 42, of Putney, was hit by a 2018 Jeep Renegade driven by Alexis M. Folk, 33, of Springfield.

Investigation revealed that Parson had been an occupant in a vehicle during a traffic stop conducted by Brattleboro Police Department near the town line.

After being released from the scene, Parson left on foot but returned a short time later.

Parson was struck by Folk’s vehicle while crossing US Route 5.

He was transported to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Vermont State Police responded to the scene of the single-vehicle crash in Windham County.
