Georgia man arrested after theft, erratic driving

GEORGIA — Vermont State Police arrested a Georgia man on multiple charges after a series of incidents that began with a retail theft and escalated to erratic driving on April 30.

Joshua Maple, 34, faces charges of violation of an abuse prevention order, careless and negligent operation, unlawful mischief, and retail theft.

Police were notified of a theft from Maplefields on Ethan Allen Highway at 8:25 a.m.

Before locating Maple, authorities received additional calls about erratic behavior and unsafe vehicle operation near the I-89 off ramp, Skunk Hill Road, and the Georgia Park and Ride at approximately 1:40 p.m.

Maple was subsequently arrested and taken into custody.
