PORTSMOUTH — A Maine teenager faces multiple felony charges after allegedly driving 125 mph on Interstate 95 before crashing at the Portsmouth Traffic Circle early Tuesday morning.

Michael A. Wozny, 18, of Westbrook, Maine, was arrested at 1:38 a.m. on April 29 after leading state troopers on a high-speed chase.

Trooper Patrick Vetter observed a 2017 Subaru Legacy traveling northbound at 125 mph in a posted 65 mph zone while patrolling Interstate 95 in Greenland.

Troopers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the Subaru fled at high speed.

The driver exited Interstate 95 at Exit 5 and continued to the Portsmouth Traffic Circle, where the vehicle crashed into multiple traffic signs before stopping on the Route 1 Bypass North.

Troopers and Portsmouth Police detained all occupants, including multiple juvenile passengers.

Investigators determined Wozny was impaired and initially provided a false identity to troopers.

Two juvenile passengers were transported to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries, while Wozny was evaluated and found to have no injuries.

Wozny was charged with three felony counts of reckless conduct, two misdemeanor counts of disobeying an officer, three misdemeanor counts of aggravated driving under the influence, three misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child, operating without a valid license, criminal mischief, transportation of alcohol by a minor, and reckless operation.

The suspect declined bail and was held at the Rockingham County Department of Corrections pending a court appearance on April 29.
