Driver faces DUI charge after I-89 crash in Colchester

COLCHESTER — A St. Albans woman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after her vehicle crashed on Interstate 89 in Colchester Sunday evening.

Vermont State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash at approximately 6:10 p.m. on April 27 near mile marker 96 on I-89 northbound.

Troopers identified the driver as Megan Eddy, 36, of St. Albans.

According to police, Eddy was traveling northbound when her vehicle left the roadway and entered the median, causing all airbags to deploy and resulting in severe front-end damage to her 2014 Mazda Mz2.

While speaking with Eddy, troopers observed signs of impairment, police said.

No injuries were reported in the crash.

Eddy was arrested and transported to the Williston Barracks for processing.

She was later released with a citation to appear at Chittenden County Superior Court on May 15 at 8:30 a.m. to answer to the charge of DUI, first offense.
