LEICESTER — Vermont State Police arrested a Leicester man Sunday afternoon following a domestic assault incident at a residence on US Route 7.
Wayne Hutchins, 70, was taken into custody without incident after troopers from the New Haven Barracks responded to a report of a family disturbance at approximately 2:07 p.m.
Investigation determined that a household member had been assaulted by Hutchins, causing pain and fear to the victim, according to police.
Hutchins was transported to the New Haven State Police Barracks for processing.
He was later lodged at Marble Valley Correctional Facility on $200 bail.
Hutchins is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court Criminal Division of Addison County on Monday at 12:30 p.m.
